There are many factors I keep in mind that inform a project's final art style. My decisions are based on branding, game design, trends, platform, engine, budget, timeline, team size/make-up, player demographic, gameplay readability, and performance. The most important component of a successful project, however, is cross-functional communication and collaboration. I strike a balance between all of these various aspects to create and lead a team to an engaging and successful end product.
